I just can’t believe all the walking I have done, and still allot more. Well this afternoon I tour Historical Jamestown, as I said this is a representation of how life would have been in the early days. It started with a gallery/museum of the history, not just Jamestown, but the Indians that lived in the area. It appears the buildings were accurate from what I read at Jamestowne. Indian village was interesting no teepees.
There were 2 replicas of the actual ships that were used to transport goods to and from Jamestown and England, remember the original purpose of Jamestown was to find precious metals (like gold) and establishing a profitable trade route to the Pacific among other things. It was funded/owned by Virginia Company. The ships were smaller than I imagined, the guide told me that they needed to be small to navigate the river. The other thing, around 50 people would be on the ship, I just can’t imagine how that got that many people on a ship and cross the Atlantic, another gentlemen next to me agreed.
